I get bored shitless when I hear people talking about their success: they’ve done this and that and blah blah blah. I get super bored when I find myself seeking out the constant approval of others.
So bored am I, I’d rather stick pins in my eyes.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s thrilling to succeed. I’m proud of my achievements. This feeling, however…it’s like a hit.
It lasts only for a short period of time.
It’s unsustainable.
What if we questioned our conception of success?
Who made it a thing?
We did, of course.
What if we, who created this concept, begin to redefine it?
What if success is showing up, without judgment, for the messy process of our unfolding? For people — being good to others and ourselves for no reason.
What if success is being able to give thanks for what is, right now?
Can you stop for 60 seconds out of your day and identify one thing you are grateful for and with all your heart say thank you?
Can you do that right now?
We’re in an improv theater, my friends.
It’s called life.
What if we changed the script?
