Whenever I start anything I feel called to do, I’m met almost instantly with a feeling of indifference.
It urges me to stall and has a voice which says:
“I don’t want to.”
It happens every time.
Even though I know this:
Once I start, that voice ultimately begins to fade and I’m in.
Fully.
I’ve discovered that “I don’t want to” is a cover for my fears about doing something that matters to me.
My fear of failing, of not being good enough and so on.
Whenever we are beckoned by an inner voice telling us to do something that truly matters, fear will come as his or her companion.
For some reason, this is the nature of creativity.
And above all, being human.
“I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.”
